Speaking to Collider, Jolie mentioned that she doesn’t feel like the Lara Croft character fits her. However, when she found out the package came with world travel and training with the British Army, she gave the role a second thought.

I said, I didn’t really feel like this character fit me. I actually didn’t want to do that at first. I said no. But they said you could travel around the world and train with the British Army and so I had three months of seeing what I could do. I would encourage anyone to do that.
