Trooper, a down-to-earth dog and his best friend, Hollywood agent Andrea Eastman, overcomes tough situations with love on his two sides. Suzanne McCauley is the author of this true story of a dog and his owner. A prolific writer of children’s, teen, and adult books and screenwriter, Suzanne fell in love with writing, theater, and film when she was just eight years old.

Susan McCauley was born and raised on the Texas Gulf Coast, not far from Houston. She spent several years in Los Angeles, California acting, writing, and teaching at an English language college. In 2002, she moved to London to explore more professional theatre. In 2007, she was the Line Producer of the Emmy Award-nominated Civil War short film Now and Forever Yours: Letters to an Old Soldier. Her stories have been published in numerous anthologies, and her short story “The Cask” was made into an award-winning short film. Andrea Eastman began her career in blockbuster movies when she was in her twenties and was responsible for the filming of The Godfather and Love Story, two of the most iconic films of all time.

She moved to Los Angeles where she was Senior Vice President of International Creative Management. Some of Andrea’s clients were Barbra Streisand, Sylvester Stallone, Billy Crystal, Dustin Hoffman, Kathryn Ross, Richard Gere, Christopher Plummer, Gabriel Byrne, Chevy Chase, Wes Craven, Marshall Brickman, Stockard Channing, Henry Winkler, Tony Danza, Katie Couric.

Her passion in addition to the entertainment business is animals. She is an animal activist who works with rescue groups around the world. She got Robert Redford to sign the voter’s ticket in 1998 to help pass Prop 6 and end horse slaughter in California.

Andrea and Willie Nelson received the Equine Advocates Lifetime Achievement Award for saving horses in 2021. It is the second award she has received from Equine Advocates in ten years. Andrea has been collecting money for years to save his “Premarine Pony”. Premarin is made from the urine of estrogen-bearing mares. When babies are born they are sent to be slaughtered for their meat in China and Europe.
